A Bit About Me
Welcome to Dreaming Tree Counseling! Hello, my name is Jeremy Korver and my pronouns are he/him/his. I am happy you are here. It is a courageous consideration to reach out for help and take the next steps in your healing journey. I welcome you to a safe space along with a partnership in navigating any mental health concerns. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is a vital component to your healing. I strive to create a strong relationship between us to ensure your experience with therapy is encouraging and productive.

I have an integrative approach that combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit your needs. My specialties are empathy, psychoeducation, ego-state therapy, trauma-informed mindfulness, and BrainPaint® - a type of neurofeedback therapy that uses biofeedback to improve brain function. Neurofeedback not only helps the brain return to a more balanced state, but it also empowers individuals by allowing them to actively engage in their own healing process. As the brain grows more competent at self-regulation, the benefits may become more consistent, resulting in long-term relief from trauma symptoms and a healthier, more resilient mind.

In my practice, I frequently meet people who are unaware that they are influenced by deep-rooted trauma. Trauma is not usually the consequence of a single, outwardly traumatic event; it can also be caused by chronic emotional stress, which silently wreaks havoc on the mind and body. Many people believe that trauma is limited to physical assault, yet emotional stress can cause the same physiological effects. This can involve an increase in the amplitude of specific brainwaves and the release of cortisol, a stress hormone, into the body. These responses can have a long-term influence on both mental and physical health. Chronic stress and increased cortisol levels have been related to a variety of health concerns, including anxiety, depression, cardiovascular disease, and a compromised immune system. If left untreated, the impacts of trauma can deteriorate an individual's quality of life, making wellness difficult to obtain.

Recognizing the pervasive impact of trauma, I incorporate trauma treatment into many of my therapeutic plans, even when it is not the primary focus of therapy. This method ensures that I address the underlying reasons for my clients' distress, resulting in a more comprehensive path to healing. By recognizing and treating underlying trauma, I want to not only alleviate current symptoms but also avoid future health concerns, helping my clients to live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
