LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy

Finding the right therapist can be stressful enough on its own, let alone trying to find a therapist who truly knows what it means to be LGBTQ+ affirming. As bisexual women, married to a woman, we’ve been there.

While we cannot know what it is like to walk in your shoes, we can empathize and understand what it means to reach the age where you begin to notice that you’re different, even if you’re not quite sure how or what that means yet. To feel the anxiety that builds inside you as you question your own identity. To struggle knowing that this part of you means that life will inevitably be more difficult. To fear that being your authentic self will lead to rejection, ridicule, or even threaten your own safety. To find the courage to ask for help only to feel judged, misgendered, or ignored.

Therapy is meant to be a safe space. A place where you can bring your whole authentic self and be met with compassion and acceptance. A place to feel confident knowing that you can explore your gender identity or sexual orientation without fear of judgement. A place where your pronouns will be respected. And a place where you are encouraged to embrace your authentic self, all parts, and all forms.

We have supported many clients through coming out to family and friends, navigating their first relationships, starting hormone replacement therapy, and undergoing gender affirming procedures. If you are finding yourself needing similar support, we encourage you to reach out and get connected!

We are able to provide letters of referral for gender affirming procedures and believe in doing all that we can to help remove barriers to becoming your most authentic self.
