A Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Phoebe Carmichael (she/her), LMSW, at Dreaming Tree Counseling. I strive to create warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe exploring your experiences, reconnecting with yourself, and moving toward meaningful healing and change.

My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and culturally responsive. I have a strong interest in working with complex trauma, dissociation, identity development, relationships, and life transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ2+ clients and creating space a space where all parts of you are welcome.

I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work, somatic awareness, and relational approaches into therapy, helping clients build insight, self-compassion, and a deeper understanding of their inner experiences and relationships.

I have a growing interest in couples work and emotionally focused approaches and am actively pursuing training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Additionally, I am passionate about continuing to deepen my understanding of dissociation and working with individuals experiencing DID and complex dissociative experiences.

Together, we'll work to understand patterns, strengthen resilience, and create a life that feels more connected, grounded, and authentic to you.

Work Experience

Intake Specialist

LifeStance Health -
Regional Operations Manager

LifeStance Health - Intern

Dreaming Tree Counseling - Clinical Therapist

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in client care coordination and practice leadership roles within mental health settings, where I supported individuals at the very beginning of their therapy journeys. These experiences deepened my understanding of how important it is to feel welcomed, safe, and genuinely understood when seeking support.

Today, I bring the same warmth and relational care into my clinical work. My approach is trauma-centered, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity and compassion. I have a strong interest in woking with complex trauma, dissociation, identity development, attachment wounds, and relational concerns.

I am passionate about ongoing learning and continue to deepen my understanding of complex trauma and dissociative experiences in order to provide thoughtful, ethical, and attuned care. I am presently pursuing training in EMDR and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
