A Bit About Me
Hello and welcome to Dreaming Tree Counseling! You are so courageous for considering the next step in your healing journey! My name is Jennifer (Jen) Towns (she/her).

It is my personal and professional belief that everyone can discover their most authentic and successful self - however they occasionally need assistance along the way. I invite you to a safe space where you can learn to trust, speak your truth, and realize your potential for emotional growth and change.
I want to understand your unique story in an emotionally safe and respectful environment. My hope is to bring understanding, nurturing, and acceptance to the different parts of yourself. It is my intent to provide hope and encouragement as you courageously take steps to make your life more manageable. The relationship with each of my clients is important to me — I consider it a privilege to be trusted as a partner in the healing process.

Often individuals do not recognize the vital connection between body and mind, and how both an be integral in the healing process. I practice strengths-based and trauma-informed holistic therapy - coming from a place of empathic understanding and support.
To guide clients through healing from past traumas or injurious events that currently present as anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other mental health disorders, I blend a mixture of mindfulness, somatic body work, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psycho-education, ego-state and Internal Family Systems informed parts work, and a general recognition of the impact of traumas and attachment wounds on the body and mind. Regardless of the treatment modality or diagnosis, the primary focus will always be on YOU - how your life is impacted, and how we a work together to get you back to a functional and peaceful place.
I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced all forms of trauma as well as members of the LGBTQQIA2S+ community.
