A Bit About Me
Welcome to Dreaming Tree Counseling! I’m Sydney (she/her).

I work with adults who are living with the effects of complex trauma, including female-presenting survivors of interpersonal and systemic violence. My approach is trauma-informed and IFS-informed, and I hold a deep respect for the ways our minds and bodies adapt to survive experiences that felt unsafe, overwhelming, or silencing.
In our work together, I aim to create a space that feels steady, collaborative, and kind. I help clients gently get to know their inner world—at a pace that feels manageable—so they can better understand their emotional responses, build a sense of internal safety, and reconnect with parts of themselves that may have felt pushed aside. I am attentive to consent, boundaries, and nervous system capacity, and I believe therapy works best when clients feel empowered and in control of the process.
I am especially mindful of how trauma can shape self-trust, identity, boundaries, and one’s relationship with the body. I strive to offer a therapeutic relationship that feels respectful, nonjudgmental, and affirming—one where clients don’t have to explain or minimize their experiences in order to be understood. I believe people are not broken; their systems did what they needed to do to survive, and healing begins with compassion.
I work with adults navigating complex trauma, anxiety, and life transitions, and I bring warmth, curiosity, and care into each session. My hope is to support clients in feeling more connected to themselves and more grounded as they move forward, in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.

Work Experience
Phoenix Australia -
Trauma Research Assistant
Personalized Nursing LIGHT House -
Substance Use Disorder Counselor
Dreaming Tree Counseling -
Clinical Therapist
In Australia, I worked closely with adults living with PTSD and complex trauma, conducting in-depth assessments and supporting clients within a multidisciplinary, trauma-informed setting. This experience shaped my thoughtful steady approach to therapy and deepened my respect for each client's story, resilience, and need for safety and trust.

While at LIGHT House, I compassionately supported adults navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns through both individual and group work.
I will continue to approach my work with clients with curiosity, humility, and a strong commitment to learning, offering care that honors each client's autonomy, strengths, and capacity for growth and healing.
