Dreaming Tree Counseling is a queer-owned, trauma-centered mental health practice dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered outpatient therapy services. The organization focuses on supporting individuals, couples/partnerships, and families through evidence-based interventions and personalized care plans. While we treat a variety of presentations, our primary focus is on the treatment of CPTSD and trauma. Outpatient Therapist

This position is a full-time, on-site position based in Ann Arbor, MI, providing therapy to clients across diverse backgrounds and presenting concerns. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychosocial assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation. The therapist will coordinate care with other providers and community resources, engage in regular case consultations, and participate in team meetings to support integrated care. Additional responsibilities may include crisis intervention, supporting client transitions between levels of care, and contributing to program development and quality improvement initiatives. The role requires adherence to ethical standards, confidentiality regulations, and professional licensing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related mental health field; active FULL licensure in Michigan (e.g., LMSW, LPC,), or ability to obtain full licensure by March 1, 2027.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations using culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with proficiency in electronic health records.

  • Ability to manage a full outpatient caseload, maintain professional boundaries, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Experience with (or excitement to learn) evidence-based modalities (e.g., IFS, EMDR, somatic interventions, and attachment-focused modalities) and willingness to engage in ongoing training and supervision.

Benefits

Total annual compensation: approximately $80,000–$100,000 (depending on certifications, experience, and caseload). This amount includes: clinical compensation, administrative pay, and a healthcare stipend.

Additional benefits include 4.5 weeks of PTO, 401(k) matching, an annual CEU stipend, a fully furnished office, administrative/practice/caseload support, and clinical consultation and professional development.
